MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Since I've been involved in the Model Untied Nations for a couple of years, in year 2020 I had the opportunity to be the head of events in EIS Model United Nations. My role was to plan out the opening and closing ceremony as well as managing the video production part of the event, and within the same year I was the head of media in another MUN called Challenging the Youth Model United Nations. My job was to create and design posts and stories for the MUN’s Instagram account. This was a great hands on experience, where I was able to explore and apply my imagination and creativity. These designs had to be based on the necessary requirements such as color palette, and design style of the conference. Overall, this experience improved my time management and collaboration skills. I had to collaborate with different members of the team based on the information and style requirements of each post, which improved the way I creatively plan and execute.

ACTING

I started acting when I was quite young and signed up for an acting class at the Dubai Community Theater and Arts Center (DUCTAC). At school, I am part of the Portfolio Drama class, where we have conducted many performances and allowed ourselves to be physically creative and free. We learned the importance of rehearsals and planning and performed in many of our performances. The acting class helped me learn to use my body in a more fluid and dramatic way, where I could move more easily and speak louder and more clearly. We were presented with many exercises, which were a good way to practice, and we also implemented multimedia to make our performances more interactive and interesting. I also acted in short films and narratives outside of school, where I gained experience as an actor on stage and in front of a camera. Overall, my acting has developed over time and I think it’s something that I will continue to do, as a way to energize myself creatively and physically.

SPORTS

SPORTS

I joined the MPAC Sports Basketball Academy and was part of Team Runner Up in MPAC Junior Basketball League.

I have improved in basketball over the course of almost 5 years, where I have practiced, trained and played consistently. As a result, I became a more entitled player in basketball and to other sports as well, where I grew up athletically in general. I am able to play many other sports, and excel in them, however basketball will always remain my most dominant sport.

I also play interschool matches as I am part of the school's Under 19 basketball team.

MUSIC

When I was younger, I never thought that music would have such an important place in my life until I got myself a guitar. Just holding the guitar felt right to me. At the beginning of my musical journey, I started to use the acoustic guitar and the garage band to arrange my music, however my passion for rock grew so I got my hands on an electric guitar and I play almost every day. The songs from the 80s and 90s really inspired me to play more, because that's what I perceive to be good music. I played a lot of songs, and with a lot of people too. I always find ways to experiment using different equipment, mixers and amplifier settings, as well as using my laptop and phone, so that I can play certain songs with the best precision. Guitar and music in general have had a big impact on my life and has allowed me to be more artistically independent and to appreciate all genres of music equally. I was promoted to level 2 at Trinity College London and passed out with a score of 85% and will be passing my level 4 exams soon. I also attended and played guitar for the Global Band Rockin'1000 event.

COMMERCIAL PRODUCTIONS ( 2019- 2020 )

Through 2019 to 2020, I had the opportunity to be a team member of two commercial film productions. One of them was a TV commercial about a new hair dye product, and the other was a commercial about a fruit juice that is a big brand in the region.

The experience gave me a better understanding of how commercials are shot, how the crew communicates and how the team plans each scene.

Despite being perceived as an intern within the crew, I was entrusted with the role of director's second assistant to manage the shotlist and clapperboard based on the script and storyboard.

I gained a lot of insight into how people actually work when shooting a commercial and what they need to do to ensure that every scene is perfect.

To be part of a professional set with High end equipment, and a team of professional creatives with a large crew who work to create what you see on TV was a great experience.

ADVERTISING ( 2021 )

The summer had just started and my first assignment was to complete the IAs and EEs due over the summer. I told myself this summer would be productive but fun and that's how I took my opportunity to intern for Crayons Communications, a leading  advertising agency.

It gave me an insight into how creatives work at a corporate level. I learned the importance of teamwork and communication in order to create content from both a creative and business perspective.

My contribution to the company included set design, being part of filming commercials, brainstorming ideas for clients, creating presentations, and even being cast in some content.

Through these exclusive experiences, my communication, collaboration, open-mindedness, and creativity have developed me as a person as I have been exposed to different business roles along with thinking outside of the box.

FILM FESTIVAL ( 2020- TILL DATE )

I had conceptualized and created the sample film “Super Busy” for a category called TELCO of the FFTG Awards, a global film festival in 2020. It was selected for the festival's website, and I was also invited to serve as a Judge in the young selection committee.

It is truly amazing to view and rate the Film submissions from around the world.

There were so many stories of different genres and categories that were not only fun but also inspiring for me. It was truly an amazing experience to be a part of it as it helped me understand different cultures and people, and how they creatively implement their thoughts into something so wonderful.

In 2021, I submitted three of my films in the social media category, which were selected, nominated and Winner for BEST CONCEPT BY NEWWAVE MALE FILMMAKER for my film Malcum, and my interviews about the films were posted on all of their social media platforms.
Got listed on IMDb page as an Actor and Filmmaker.

ART

I have been very fond of drawing since I was a child, and later on moved onto to experimenting with digital art. I used apps such as Procreate and ArtRage, which I used to create art and digital drawings for my school projects. The digital art works I produce all have a specific style, where each of them hold a sense of imagination and meaning. These artworks visually reflect on what I am thinking and how I perceive the world.

By further utilizing my artistic skills, I look towards creating NFT's (Non-Fungible Tokens) for the internet.

SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT (2020 TILL DATE )

I recently started making videos and short stories for TikTok, It inspired me to learn new aspects of filmmaking such as editing techniques, post production, sound, and mainly to incorporate a lot of visual effects, which can be very challenging, but has drastically escalated my learning curve.

Audiences are always on the lookout for something new and I feel like there aren't enough videos on TikTok dealing with visual effects. It takes a lot of time and effort, but as I am in my final year of IB, it is a challenge to invest time into producing videos. I try to post as many VFX videos as possible, so that I can reach the goal of gaining high amount of followers by the end of 2022. This incentive has allowed me to be more creative and help me learn and create content that I love. You can see some of my content below.
